Show no Mercy!!!

I have never seen a praying mantis outside of Enter the Dragon....but there he/she/it was...chillin' on a pole sticking out of the ground....when I started to take the picture and got too close he/she/it started bouncing up and down...it was about to whip someone's ass.....

..I took off....Maron, didn't make it.

Saturday Follies...

Yep, this is me standing next to my 8' tall mock-up of a feature wall in my latest project at work.

It's missing lights inside the wall.....those will come tomorrow from the lighting rep....
It's missing the acrylic backing behind the little 4x4 squares that took 2 hrs to cut out....that will come in two days from a different rep....
It's missing the rest of the 4' on top of the wall.....it was suppose to be 12' tall......

....DAMMIT!!

Right on Schedule

I have no idea if this blog thing is suppose to be updated everyday, every other day or only when one has something they think is important to say....hence the 3 day gap between blogs.

I have spent the last two days of work at a management seminar.....Unnecessarily named: Project Manger Bootcamp... There was nothing military about it. In fact, there was nothing about managing people either. The whole 48hr experience can be summed up in one bullet point:

- Plan, maintain and achieve profitable jobs.

Yes, it is that simple. I know this because the 3inch thick binder I have weighing down my desk says so!!

My firm spent $8000 to send 8 of us to learn how to be project managers in a principle run firm. To tell the truth, they paid for it twice, if you count the money paid for our time and that's way more than 8000 bucks.

In all, I think it was a waste of time....lots of good points, but I didn't feel there was much reality in it. Let's face it, Architecture isn't a high stress job, there are no work place hazardous, no one is going to lose an eye from clicking away on the computer. Any case of an Architect living off disability is a fraud. Having made that point, Architects never want to retire, because of that, the good old boy system is now and always will be in place. So my firm paid good money for me to learn strategies and techniques I will never use because they have been doing things their way since the firm was founded back in -984b.c. and that's the way it is!

All digital music is a reality. You don't need a whole band to rock the house....but you do need their instruments....at least to play every note on the musical scale once, record it, feed it into the computer and two jedi mind tricks later you get a sound that can't humanly be possible.

You really can't get something for nothing...

Yesterday was my first blog, ever. I still have no idea what's going to happen with this thing, but one thing is for sure. No matter where you go and how far you think we've come in this tech-savvy-2005-gots-to-have-it-world...there will always be people who want your money, no matter what it takes.

I received 4 comments to my very first post already!! When I saw this over the lunch hour, the first thing that came into my mind was that my girlfriend told her friends and they all had something to say....then I read them.

You wont have to read them all; its my pleasure to paraphrase my four new friends:

My good friend Unhipaajim said:

"Great blog! Definitely going to bookmark and follow along!I have a buy an electric scooter site/blog. It covers buy an electric scooter related stuff. Not really exciting, but it's a start."

Well hell, I didn't know Unhipaajim sold electric scooters?! And to think, I spent all that money on a real car, when I could have had a scooter...So I visited his site and found out that buying that '99 Malibu was a good investment afterall because my pal Unhipaajim doesn't really sell electric scooters, he/she/it sells electric scooter parts....

Why buy the whole cow when you can just get a damn battery.

Ummy.....yeah we tight like that.....wasn't the only one that wanted to send a shot out. My main man Keyword King had these encouraging words:

"You have a knack forwriting. I read about 20blogs a day, and skim about30 more, so I mean it! Wecan all use improvement, butyou certainly are better thanmost I've read"

Keyword King...you da man! I mean for real...I'm 'better than most'?! Seriously, how could I not go to the link attached to his name, right? I hesitated a second because the Keyword King I knew in college became a brain surgeon, but that the hell, its the Keyword King!

.....Blog Submitter Pro 7.0.....

That's right, Blog Submitter Pro 7.0. After 10 years of Med School and 300Gs in student loans Da King sells software(spam-o-licious spyware) designed to peel through search engines looking for any keyword you have purchased...then when the unsuspecting web searcher goes looking for a better recipe for grandma's bree stuffed meatloaf and types in "Bree recipe" and not only do they get this website: http://www.unix.org.ua/orelly/perl/cookbook/ch03_06.htm they also get a tasty pop-up that would nothing else but to sell, I mean give you a $400 Ipod for the low low price of your email address.....for the rest of your life.....

I suppose 300Gs is alot to pay off.....seriously, how successful are brain surgeries anyway....

The last two comments from Razorlazar and Ngullen Rivera......"Lazer Tag and New River" as we called them in Junior high....were so special I will not bore you with the comments...

The moral of the story is simple....No Matter Where You Go, There They Are. And they really don't give a sh*t if you buy their product or not...just the fact that the pop-up successfully made it onto your screen put money in their pockets...

My first blog.....ahhh

This is was the CD cover I made for my mother's birthday CD...she enoyed it.

This is my first blog, I'm bittin' this idea off my girlfriends best friend (Mia Villanueva) in L.A. via "Sea-town"....ever heard of that place?! Me either. Apparently, it's slang for Seattle but I still don't buy it.

Havin' said all that, this blog will no doubt be filled with the most uninteresting commentary and photographs that I can create....as time passes on, I will get a better handle on letting the world in on what's comin' outta my cranium and the vocabulary will expand and the photos will make more sense.....finally, at the end of it all, someone at sometime from some remote part of the world will write a comment on my blog and say: "Damn kid...you really need to get out more!"

Last but not least, I plan to post websites that I find interesting.....interesting to me that is. If you find them as interesting, consider it sharing the love....if you don't then consider it just sharing. Feel free to leave links of your own....

This section will be called: Door #3
